Dear Homeschool Educator:

I recently retired after serving as Saxon's Curriculum Advisor to homeschool parents for more than eight years, and I have finally written the book many of you asked me to write.  The book will provide you with the same advice and assistance I have given you these past eight years, and I trust it will also help homeschool families successfully select and correctly use John Saxon’s math books - and save money!

Please visit my website at: www.homeschoolwithsaxon.com. The book contains answers to questions homeschool parents have asked over the years.  It also contains advice on how to save money and use John Saxon’s books to their fullest.  While on the website, you can preview the book's table of contents in addition to several selections from the book.

Our introductory price of U.S. $19.95 includes free shipping anywhere in the United States.

We are also including a free subscription to my 2007 advisory Homeschool Newsletter for those who buy the book during this introductory offer.  The newsletter will offer you useful web links, the latest tips, suggestions, and ideas, as well as important notices about changes in editions, errors noted in the books, support services, etc.

If you know of a friend or colleague also using John Saxon’s math books, who would be interested in the book, please forward a copy of this email to them as well.

Thanks.

Dear Fellow Homeschoolers and Parents with Special Needs Children,

Every year there are more and more families choosing to home school their children with special needs.  GIFTSNC is a home school support group for families with special needs children.  Our goal is to support, empower, guide and educate families home schooling children with special needs through conferences, workshops and family-to-family support.

We are planning our second GIFTSNC Home Schooling Special Needs Conference and Exhibitor's Hall in April.  We are trying to reach as many families as possible that might benefit by attending a conference geared specifically for their unique home school support needs.  I have attached our Conference Flier and Ad and I am asking you to please pass this along to all of your members.  So many families home schooling special needs children feel that they are alone in their journey.  Our conference helps to bring these families together and provide valuable information for teaching special children at home.  We would appreciate any help you can give us in letting others know about this conference.

Thank you so very much,
Jen Midkiff

Hello,
Here is information about the TeenPact class coming to Ohio April 23-27, 2007. Could you pass this on to the families in your group? It would be great to include in a newsletter or website. If it is easier as an attachment, let me know and I can send it that way also.

Thank you so much,
Beth Gebert state coordinator for TeenPact.

Hear ye! Hear ye!  It is time to get ready for TeenPact!  TeenPact is once again coming to Ohio April 23-27, 2007.

TeenPact is a comprehensive leadership experience that challenges students to grow both personally and spiritually. During TeenPact, students will enjoy meeting and interacting with other Christian young people and leaders from across their state. Students will come away from TeenPact with a realization of their spiritual capacity as young people and a desire to change America for Christ. There are two classes to choose from:

TeenPact Four-Day Class April 23-26,2007 (Ages 13-19)

At the Ohio Statehouse each day students will learn about the political process and the basics of state government through hands-on experience. Activities include analyzing actual bills that are being worked through the legislature, researching how political candidates spend their campaign money, writing their own bills and trying to get them passed in the TeenPact mock legislature. (http://teenpact.com/about) Students prepare for their week by completing the pre-class homework. See http://teenpact.com/stateclass/homework.php

TeenPact One-Day Class April 27,2007 (Ages 8-12)

The TeenPact Ohio One-Day Class is a condensed version of the longer program, tailored for younger children. The curriculum includes understanding the legislative process, a prayer walk, mock legislature, the influence of constituents on lawmakers, the role of Christians in politics, and being “salt and light” at the Capitol. The class is designed for parents and children to attend together.  One parent is required to attend per family and will come at no charge. Students for this class also complete pre-class homework to prepare for class.

See http://teenpact.com/stateclass/homework.php

Additionally, a public speaking class, for students ages 13-19 will be held Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for those students wishing to receive an introduction to public speaking. Students will write and deliver several small speaking pieces and a five-minute speech.

Housing Options

  1. You may choose to commute to the Capitol each day from home.
  2. You may make arrangements to stay in a host home or hotel.
  3. You may be a part of the Residential Program. Staff, students and parent chaperones will stay at Greenwood Lake Camp in Delaware, Ohio approximately 36 minutes from downtown. You will be transported to and from the capitol each day. At the camp there will be afternoon recreation, and evening sessions with teaching, worship and games. Breakfast and dinner are included in the price of $93 for 3 nights, and $124 for four nights. Students and parents not staying at the camp are welcome to come and eat ($5 per night) and/or participate in the evening activities.   See details in the Residential Camp Letter http://teenpact.com/stateclass/stateclass.php?state=OH

There is a $20 early-bird discount for signing up by March 9, 2007. See www.teenpact.com for more information, or contact Beth Gebert at Gebert10@aol.com or call 614-882-1881.

Greetings from Sequoia Ministry,

We are a homeschool family for 21 years now, we live in California.  Over the past year, God has given me a work to do, and it is now complete. I was able to put all my 30 years of study on the Earth Before The Flood on to a DVD.  It was filmed and produced this last year. I just wanted to let you know that it was available to purchase. The cost is 12.00 + s/h.  It is selling here in California very well. It will answer the questions, does the Bible tell us about how the Earth was? How has it changed? Did you know that there was no rain or climate and a vapor canopy. Sure we have heard the creation folks talk about it, but it is in God’s word too. So anyway, blessings for the new year and you can visit my web site for more information on this new DVD.  Wow, a homeschool dad (me) got to be used by the Lord.

God’s richest blessings,

Bruce Larson – Sequoia Ministry
